WASHINGTON - The Ways and Means Committee today voted to pass the bipartisan Securing a Strong Retirement Act of 2021, which included the Military Spouses Retirement Security Act introduced by Reps. Jason Crow (D-CO) and Brad Wenstrup (R-OH). The Military Spouses Retirement Security Act would help spouses of active duty service members save for retirement by expanding access to employer-sponsored retirement plans.

WASHINGTON – Reps. Jason Crow (CO-06) and Ruben Gallego (AZ-07) today led a letter to the Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense Chairwoman Betty McCollum and Ranking Member Ken Calvert, urging them to provide full funding for Stars and Stripes in Fiscal Year 2022.

AURORA - Today, Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) joined Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) and Senator Ed Markey (D-Mass.) to introduce comprehensive economic recovery legislation that would authorize at least $1 trillion per year until 2031, providing family-sustaining, union jobs for more than 15 million American workers.

The jobs, which range in industry from clean energy to care work to manufacturing, would help to drastically cut carbon pollution by 2030, while also advancing gender, environmental, Indigenous, economic, and racial justice, especially for Black and Indigenous individuals.

AURORA - Congressman Jason Crow is hosting a socially-distant watch event tomorrow at Stanley Marketplace for President Biden's Joint Address with select guests.

The Joint Address, which is President Biden's first speech to a Joint Session of Congress, marks 100 days into the President's first term. In the past, Crow has invited constituents to join him in Washington to such events, including Mary Majok, a Sudanese refugee who lost her son to gun violence in Colorado; and Sue Way, a Aurora resident who saw the cost of her insulin increase by over 500 percent in one year.

AURORA - Today, Reps. Jason Crow (CO-06) and Michael Waltz (FL-06) re-introduced the Syrian Partner Protection Act which would extend the Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program to Syrian Kurdish partners and their families who supported the counter-ISIS mission.

"The American handshake needs to mean something. The Syrian Partner Protection Act honors the promise we made to our Syrian and Kurdish partners in Syria who have been our allies on the ground in the fight against ISIS," said Rep. Jason Crow. "As a combat veteran who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, I know firsthand that our alliances are built on trust. We must protect the friends who protected us."

WASHINGTON - Today, Reps. Jason Crow (CO-06), Adam Schiff (CA-28), and Dwight Evans (PA-03) alongside Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), reintroduced the Equal Access to Justice for Victims of Gun Violence Act to ensure that the gun industry – including manufacturers, sellers and interest groups – can be held accountable when it acts with negligence and disregard for public safety. The bill would repeal the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), allowing victims of gun violence to pursue justice in court.

WASHINGTON - Today, Reps. Jason Crow (CO-06), Cori Bush (MO-01), Pramila Jayapal (WA-07), Sean Casten (IL-06), and nearly 100 House Democrats sent a letter urging Senate Democrats to end the filibuster so that Congress can deliver on the promises made to the voters who gave Democrats control of the U.S. House, Senate, and Presidency.

WASHINGTON - Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) today led an effort with 15 members of Congress to call on President Biden to honor the promises made to Afghan citizens who have worked to support U.S. operations in Afghanistan, following the Administration's announcement the U.S. would withdraw all troops by September 11, 2021. The members, made up of 10 Democrats and 6 Republicans, also announced the creation of the Honoring Our Promises Working Group to engage with the Administration.
