DENVER — U.S. Reps. Diana DeGette (D-Colorado) and Jason Crow (D-Colorado) held a press conference Tuesday outside the downtown Denver post office to discuss what they call a "rapidly evolving crisis" at the U.S. Postal Service.
The lawmakers were joined by Colorado residents whose lives and livelihoods are being impacted by efforts from President Donald Trump's administration to slow down the mail.
"I have known soldiers who lost their lives to protect our country. These are the soldiers who, in the wake of 9/11, signed up to serve our country so they could protect our freedoms, including the right to vote.
This past week, Rep. Jason Crow completed his final Workforce Development webinar, part of 8 webinar series that gave job seekers and employers the tools and resources they need to connect and grow during this difficult time for our nation's economy. The events were made possible with the help and support of community organizations including Arapahoe/Douglas Works, Mi Casa Resource Center, Arapahoe Community College, Community College of Aurora, North Metro Small Business Development Center, and Tri-County Health Department. The Workforce Development Series followed Rep. Crow's successful job fair last summer that brought together over 1,000 job seekers and 60 employers.
This morning, U.S. Representatives Jason Crow (D-CO-06) and Brad Wenstrup (R-OH-02), joined by House Armed Services Ranking Member Mac Thornberry (R-TX-13), and Reps. Stephanie Murphy (D-FL-07), Jackie Walorski (R-IN-02), Jimmy Panetta (D-CA-20), and Kenny Marchant (R-TX-24) introduced the Military Spouse Retirement Security Act, a bipartisan bill that would help spouses of active duty service members save for retirement by expanding access to employer-sponsored retirement plans.
U.S. Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06) released the following statement today in response to President Trump's suggestion that the elections be delayed:
"The President has no shame. On the day that our nation buries one of our greatest voting and civil rights heroes, he is pushing baseless theories to undermine our election. Make no mistake, vote by mail is safe and it works. Let's be clear, President Trump can't delay the election but we shouldn't be surprised if he tries to undermine it.
Today Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) and House Small Business Committee Chairwoman Nydia Velázquez led a letter with 28 other members of Congress to Small Business Administrator Jovita Carranza highlighting the grossly inaccurate data prepared by the Small Business Administration (SBA) for Congress on Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) loans. The data, which covers the number of jobs retained per loan and the borrower's congressional district, proved to be largely erroneous, casting serious doubt on the veracity, quality, and reliability of loan data.
Crow led 6 letters advocating for district priorities with several included in the House-passed bill including cracking down on dark money, funding for ALS research, and support for Civil Air Patrol
Representative Jason Crow (CO-06) announced that four hospitals in Colorado's 6th district will receive $33,087,000 in a second round of funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that Congress passed in March. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has begun distributing a total of $10 billion in funding to hospitals in High Impact areas across the country through the Provider Relief Fund.

"In Aurora, hundreds of members of our community continue to come together to stand in support of Elijah McClain and so many other Black Americans who have been denied justice.
Representative Jason Crow (CO-06) voted today to pass the bipartisan National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2021 in the House of Representatives. The bill passed with a veto-proof majority (295-125). As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, where the bill passed unanimously, Crow helped to ensure the bill contained provisions that support sustainable energy development and climate security as well as transparency and oversight of the Department of Defense before it was considered by the full House.
