WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO-06), a member of the House Armed Services Committee and veteran of the war in Afghanistan, called for 20,000 additional visas to be included for the Afghan Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) program in the FY26 appropriations bill. 

SIVs provide a life-saving path to safety for Afghan nationals who face deadly retribution as a result of their work alongside U.S. troops, diplomats, and contractors during the war in Afghanistan.

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO-06) is demanding that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) issued a directive to all agents reminding them that under current law, Members of Congress have a legal right to show up to conduct oversight of federal detention facilities, and that any threats against Members of Congress who do so are unlawful.

The letter follows alarming reports that the Trump administration is considering a proposal to eliminate funding Head Start.
