Tomorrow, Rep. Jason Crow will be volunteering at the Summit Conference and Events Center for its Rock it, Sock it event. The Rock it, Sock it program is designed to help provide hygiene items for people experiencing homelessness. This drive will benefit the Comitis Crisis Center, the Aurora Day Resource Center, and Colfax Community Network.

It is the first event for Crow's "Service Saturday" initiative which will have the congressman volunteering for a different community project in the district at least once a month.

Rep. Crow Serves as Vice Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and is a co-sponsor of the Bipartisan Background Checks Act

WASHINGTON - Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06), Vice Chair of the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force and a former Army Ranger, today voted to pass the Bipartisan Background Checks Act (H.R. 8). The bill would ensure that individuals already prohibited from gun possession under federal law cannot obtain a firearm online, at a gun show, or through most types of private transfers. While federal law already requires licensed gun dealers to conduct background checks, H.R. 8 would extend the requirement to unlicensed gun sellers.

WASHINGTON - Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) issued the below statement following his vote for H.J. Res. 46 to terminate President Trump's national emergency declaration to build a border wall.

"President Trump is making an end-run around Congress and the American people in declaring a national emergency to advance a political agenda. A border wall is ineffective and wasteful, but a national emergency when there isn't one sets a dangerous precedent and is a direct threat to our democracy. For over 200 years, our Constitution has protected Americans from overreach by either branch of government, and I can think of nothing more patriotic than protecting that ideal."

Today, Rep. Crow (D-CO) announced his new project, the Lead Locally Initiative. The effort will have Rep. Crow meeting with the mayor or local municipal officials for a tour of cities in the district and a discussion of the issues facing constituents throughout the year. Crow will be visiting cities and town across the district from Foxfield (pop. 700) to Aurora (pop. 366,000).

"Congress wasn't willing to fund the President's ineffective and wasteful border wall, so instead he declared a national emergency. His declaration represents a dangerous abuse of presidential power.
