Congressman Jason Crow Announces FY23 Community Projects

May 17, 2022

Crow’s Projects Would Bring More Than $24M in Funding to Important Local Priorities

AURORA – Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) today announces his Community Projects for Fiscal Year 2023, which could bring a total of $24,264,509 in federal funding to our local community. The 15 projects Crow applied for have a special focus on addressing the mental health crisis – especially among young Coloradans – and also include efforts to provide high-quality healthcare, deliver clean drinking water, help underserved children, and provide more economic opportunity for the community.

See a full list of the 15 projects Congressman Crow requested funding for here and below.

“As we rebuild from the COVID-19 pandemic and jumpstart our local economy, I want to make sure no one in our community is left behind. As I work to lower costs for Colorado families, it’s important to me that Coloradans also have access to the support systems they need. These projects will begin to address the mental health crisis that has been exacerbated by COVID and ensure everyone in our community has the opportunity to thrive,” said Congressman Jason Crow.

These project requests are submitted to the House Appropriations Committee for funding consideration in the Fiscal Year 2023 spending bill. Each member of Congress may submit up to fifteen Community Project Funding requests to benefit state or local government grantees or eligible nonprofits. From there, the Appropriations Committee will consider Member requests when writing the annual spending bill. Though each member can submit up to fifteen requests, only a handful may actually be funded.

To ensure public transparency and accountability, Members of Congress must certify that they and their immediate family have no financial interests in the projects they request, and they must post each request to their website. There is a ban on directing Community Project Funding to for-profit entities.

Last year, Crow secured nine projects totaling nearly $10 million in federal funding for Colorado's 6th Congressional District.
