Congressman Crow Stands with Ukraine Three Years After Putin’s Unprovoked Invasion
WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO-06), released the following statement reiterating his support for the Ukrainian people three years after Vladimir Putin illegally invaded Ukraine.
Congressman Crow has been a strong supporter of the Ukrainian people. In December 2021, just before Russia’s full-scale invasion, Congressman Crow led a delegation to Kyiv to reaffirm America’s commitment to Ukraine. When the invasion began, he immediately called for the U.S. to send military and humanitarian support to the people of Ukraine, for international sanctions to be imposed against Russia, and for a realignment of NATO to meet these new challenges. Weeks later, as Ukrainians fled their homes, Congressman Crow and other members advocated for an expedited immigration status for Ukrainians to the U.S. Since then, the Congressman has visited Ukraine several times since Russia’s invasion.
The Congressman has been one of the earliest and strongest supporters of military, development, and humanitarian assistance for Ukraine. He voted for, and strongly advocated for, every supplemental package provided to Ukraine, and was one of the first members to call for F-16s to be transferred.
In a statement, Congressman Crow said:
“Vladimir Putin thought he’d take Kyiv and destroy Ukraine in a matter of days. He’s failed. Three years later, the people of Ukraine remain unified and resolute in defending their country and pushing back against Russia’s illegal invasion and unprovoked attacks.
“Ukraine is fighting for freedom and democratic values that the American people share. Despite President Trump’s recent rhetoric and actions, the American people know we cannot abandon our partners and friends. Supporting Ukraine’s fight for freedom is not charity, it’s in our own self interest. We’re making a major investment in America’s economic and national security. Slava Ukraini!”
