Congressman Crow Delivers Over $1M in CO-06 Community Project Funding
Crow-secured funding will provide integrated, supportive eviction and homelessness prevention services, as well as expand STEM Education Programs for students.
AURORA - Today, Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) delivered over $1,000,000 in community project funding, including $840,000 to the Colorado Economic Defense Project to fund a “Just Bus” - a service that will provide eviction preventative services to residents across our community, and $225,000 to the Boys & Girls Club of Metro Denver (BGCMD) to support innovative STEM-based curriculum, supplies for space exploration and astronomy, and activities focused on space in partnership with subject matter experts. The funding is part of the 15 community projects Crowrequested and secured through the FY24 appropriations process.
“This funding provides critical services to underserved members of our community and expands STEM opportunities for students interested in space, helping them envision future career paths,” said Congressman Crow. “Thank you to the Colorado Economic Defense Project for expanding and providing essential eviction and homelessness prevention services, resources, and staff to underserved areas, and to the BGCMD for continuously finding ways to expand educational opportunities for the over 4,000 youth from Aurora you serve annually.”

In 2022, Congressman Crow also secured federal funding for 15 projects. In 2023, Crow delivered those funds to the district, including over $1.2M to strengthen the youth-focused mental health workforce and expand access to behavioral health for young Coloradans in crisis, more than $11.6M to deliver safe and accessible drinking water, uplift our vulnerable and unhoused neighbors, and support new residents, and funding to support hunger relief efforts and provide stable housing and career support for unhoused Coloradans.
In August, Crow delivered over $1,600,000 to expand Aurora-Arapahoe Gateway DV Services’ Emergency Shelter and Transitional Housing programs by creating two new facilities for emergency shelters with wraparound services and a transitional housing program supporting survivors of domestic violence.
