Congressman Crow Condemns Vladimir Putin’s Suspension of the New START Nuclear Arms Reduction Treaty

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) released the following statement today after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the Russian Federation would suspend its participation in the New Strategic Arms Reduction Treaty (New START), the last remaining nuclear arms treaty between Russia and the United States.

“The safety and security of every American is paramount — and nuclear arms reduction is vital to the safety of America and the world,” said Congressman Crow. “We will not be bullied into abandoning our Ukrainian friends nor stop the hard and necessary work of making our world safer from the threat of nuclear weapons.I stand with President Biden in his support for Ukraine and will continue to fight to reduce nuclear arms across the globe.”

Congressman Crow is the Ranking Member on the House Foreign Affairs Committee (HFAC) Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability and serves as a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence (HPSCI).
