Rep. Jason Crow Wraps Workforce Development Series with Testimonials from Participants
The 8 part webinar series ran from June through July on topics ranging from COVID-19 safe reopening plans to resume workshops
This past week, Rep. Jason Crow completed his final Workforce Development webinar, part of 8 webinar series that gave job seekers and employers the tools and resources they need to connect and grow during this difficult time for our nation's economy. The events were made possible with the help and support of community organizations including Arapahoe/Douglas Works, Mi Casa Resource Center, Arapahoe Community College, Community College of Aurora, North Metro Small Business Development Center, and Tri-County Health Department. The Workforce Development Series followed Rep. Crow's successful job fair last summer that brought together over 1,000 job seekers and 60 employers.
This year's online workshops covered an array of topics including professional email skills, career transformation, business and job safety in the COVID-19 era, phone interview skills, resume building, and networking tips.
"A year ago, I would've never imagined the challenges facing our economy or the urgent need to bridge the gap between job seekers and employers. In building this year's programs, we had to think creatively about how we could continue to provide this service while still supporting our community's public health and avoid large gatherings, but the response to the virtual Workforce Development Series was tremendous and we're thankful to everyone who participated to make this year's new job fair programming a success," said Crow.
Below please find a collection of testimonials from Coloradans who attended this year's Workforce Development Series.
I rebuilt my resume using the suggestions given by the speaker from Arapahoe Community College on resume writing and have actually had my first, second interview after 7 months of nothing and look forward to more interviews and a new job very soon. Thank you Congressman Crow to you and your staff for making this training available." – Doug, Centennial
"I am glad to have participated in the Career Reinvention Workshop with Arapahoe/Douglas Works and learned valuable information on the necessary steps and work needed to transition into a new career. I have a better understanding of the process and feel more confident to proceed with the next steps to transition into a new career." – Miranda, Aurora
"I was beyond surprised about how helpful, professional, informative, and encouraging the workshop from Mi Casa Resource Center was. I intend to go back to view all workshops I missed. This must be the best kept secret around! Thank you, Congressman Crow, for sponsoring the workshop series. This was the most valuable webinar I've attended in many years." – Connie, Denver
