Rep. Jason Crow Hits the Road with the Relaunch of Lead Locally

February 20, 2020

Lead Locally is Crow’s Initiative to Visit with Mayors and Municipal Leaders Around the District

Today, Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06) launched his first Lead Locally of 2020 with a visit to Aurora. Lead Locally, an initiative started by Crow during his first year in office, brings him to cities and municipalities across the district for tours with local officials. Last year, Crow visited nine communities including Aurora, Thornton, Highlands Ranch, Brighton, Greenwood Village, Littleton, Centennial, Foxfield, and Parker. During today's visit, Crow met with Mayor Coffman, Mayor Pro Term Johnston, City Manager Twombly, and Adams County Commissioner Tedesco.

During today's Lead Locally, the Mayor's office and Crow discussed the ways to address veteran homelessness, the Lowry Landfill Superfund Site, and PFAS containment and water safety, among many other community issues.

"It was great to kick off our 2020 Lead Locally tours in Aurora. Last year, I met with leaders from nine towns in the district to discuss local needs. This year, we're going back -- to hear updates and discuss new issues. These tours and meetings are our chance to help bridge the divide between state, local, and federal officials and ensure our office is driven by the needs of the district. Sometimes, this can take the form of major legislation, but it can also be as simple as helping remove old railroad tracks that are becoming an eyesore in a neighborhood. Today, we had a great meeting with Mayor Coffman, Mayor Pro Term Johnston, City Manager Twombly, and Commissioner Tedesco to discuss new ways we can work together and solve the most important issues facing Aurora."
