Rep. Crow Proud to Co-Sponsor Resolution to Terminate President’s National Emergency Declaration

WASHINGTON- Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) issued the below statement following his vote for H.J. Res. 46 to terminate President Trump's national emergency declaration to build a border wall.

"President Trump is making an end-run around Congress and the American people in declaring a national emergency to advance a political agenda. A border wall is ineffective and wasteful, but a national emergency when there isn't one sets a dangerous precedent and is a direct threat to our democracy. For over 200 years, our Constitution has protected Americans from overreach by either branch of government, and I can think of nothing more patriotic than protecting that ideal."
