Rep. Crow: Four Hospitals in CO-06 will Receive Over $33 Million in CARES Act Funding
HHS Announces Second Round of High Impact COVID-19 Relief Funding
Representative Jason Crow (CO-06) announced that four hospitals in Colorado's 6th district will receive $33,087,000 in a second round of funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act that Congress passed in March. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has begun distributing a total of $10 billion in funding to hospitals in High Impact areas across the country through the Provider Relief Fund.
"The hospitals on the front lines of the COVID-19 response in our district and across the US need our support now more than ever," said Congressman Crow. "These medical providers and their employees have been working around the clock to treat coronavirus patients and control the spread of the virus. I'm proud to have helped secure this funding through the CARES Act and will continue to champion healthcare workers risking their lives everyday. This second round of payments for hospitals in the 6th district will prove crucial in the fight against the pandemic."
Representative Crow was a cosponsor of the CARES Act and helped ensure it passed the House in March. Crow also fought to secure the nearly $5 million in federal coronavirus funding for CO-6 Community Health Centers that was announced in April.
The hospitals in CO-06 include:
The Medical Center of Aurora - Main Campus $6,270,651
UCHealth University of Colorado Hospital $17,516,382
Platte Valley Medical Center $3,850,000
Littleton Adventist Hospital $5,450,000
During the first round of the High Impact Allocation, $12 billion was distributed to nearly 400 hospitals who provided inpatient care for 100 or more COVID-19 patients. The second round will be allocated among hospitals who have had more than 161 admissions. A total of twenty-eight medical providers across the state of Colorado will be receiving $143.65 million during this current round of funding.
