Crow Statement on Supreme Court Birthright Citizenship Decision

June 30, 2026

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO) released the following statement after the Supreme Court ruled to uphold the longstanding constitutionality of birthright citizenship:

“This week, we celebrate 250 years since America’s founding. So much of our shared history has been shaped by Americans born in this country who went on to do extraordinary things. Together, we’ve shared in our nation’s successes and challenges, while fighting generation after generation for a more perfect union.

“The right to birthright citizenship is in our Constitution. It’s who we are as Americans. It’s been that way for generations, despite Donald Trump’s attempts to change that. Today’s ruling underscores that fundamental truth: people born on American soil are Americans, with all the rights and responsibilities we share as fellow citizens.”
