Crow Statement on National Defense Authorization Act Committee Vote

June 5, 2026

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06), a former paratrooper and Army Ranger who serves on the House Armed Services Committee, released the following statement after his vote against the annual National Defense Authorization Act in Committee:

“As a veteran, and now a member of Congress, I’ve raised my right hand many times to serve our country. I will always stand by our servicemembers and will never hesitate to use our military power to defend our nation.

“However, I cannot in good conscience give this administration more hard earned taxpayer dollars and greater unchecked authority to pursue reckless military adventurism. Their interventions abroad have cost servicemembers’ lives and billions of tax dollars, and they’ve made Americans less safe. At the same time Americans can’t afford gas, groceries, or healthcare, the Administration has requested the largest-ever defense budget, even as the Pentagon has still never passed an audit. Congress has a duty to rein in this out-of-control Administration.

“I worked hard to include key priorities for Colorado, servicemembers, and their families in this bill. It is my hope that as it advances to the full House of Representatives, it’s improved to earn strong, bipartisan support.”

During this year's NDAA markup, Crow led provisions to combat corruption at the Pentagon; support Ukraine and NATO; improve accountability and transparency around military operations in Iran and the Caribbean; ensure the protection of civilians in conflict zones; and improve the lives of Colorado servicemembers and support Colorado businesses.
