Congressman Jason Crow Statement on Passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

November 6, 2021

WASHINGTON -- Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) today released the following statement after voting for the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. This $550 billion package is the largest long-term investment in US infrastructure that has been passed in nearly a century. It makes the largest federal investment in public transit ever, the largest federal investment in passenger rail since the creation of Amtrak, the single largest dedicated bridge investment since the construction of the interstate highway system and the largest investment in clean drinking water and waste water infrastructure in American history.

"We can't be competitive in the 21st Century without modern infrastructure. That's why today I supported the largest investment in our country's infrastructure in nearly a century. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act will not only improve our local roads and bridges; it will help us tackle the climate crisis -- with a $57 million investment in Colorado's EV infrastructure and $35 million to battle Colorado wildfires.

"For too long, not investing in American infrastructure and the American people has allowed us to fall behind. This historic legislation makes those critical investments to improve life for millions of Coloradans, create a generation of good-paying jobs, stoke economic growth, and position the United States to lead in the 21st Century and beyond."
