“The dedication and skill on display in these pieces is exceptional and made it no easy task to select the winners,” said Congressman Crow. “Each of these entries demonstrated the artist’s creativity and hard work, and I look forward to sharing their art in the Capitol, in my district office, and in the Colorado Department of Education building.”

Congressman Crow and a panel of local artists selected the winners.

Every spring, the Congressional Institute sponsors a national high school visual art competition to recognize and encourage artistic talent throughout the nation in each congressional district.  Since the beginning of the competition in 1982, more than 650,000 high school students have participated, with the winning pieces displayed in the U.S. Capitol. The next submissions will be accepted early in 2023 with winners announced in the spring.
