Congressman Jason Crow Announces More Than $200,000 in Economic Relief for Local Air and Space Ports
WASHINGTON - Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) today announced $207,000 in American Rescue Plan COVID-19 Relief funding awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation to the Colorado Air and Space Port and the Centennial Airport. These grants were funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, which House and Senate Democrats passed and President Biden signed into law in March. Under the American Rescue Plan Act, this funding can be used for costs related to operations, personnel, cleaning, sanitization, janitorial services, debt service payments, and combating the spread of pathogens at the airport.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has deeply impacted our local economy -- including our air and space ports, which provide critical research, commercial transportation, and development in the aviation industry. I'm proud to deliver this important funding through the American Rescue Plan as help get our local businesses back on track," said Congressman Crow.
"We are honored to receive this grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. These funds will help us continue expanding both our aviation and aerospace operations as Colorado Air and Space Port continues to grow while working with new partners, businesses, and the community," said Christa Brunning on behalf of Adams County Air and Space Port.
"As the aviation industry continues to recover from the effects of the Covid 19 Pandemic, the $148,000 in American Rescue Plan Act grant funds will help Centennial Airport, the premier general aviation airport in the country, ensure a safe operating environment for our tenants and users. We'd like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to Congressman Jason Crow for his continued support of the aviation industry." said Mike Fronapel, Executive Director and CEO of Centennial Airport/Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority.
The Colorado Air and Space Port offers services in Aerospace, Aviation, and Development Opportunities in the Denver Metropolitan area and across Colorado.
Centennial Airport is part of the Arapahoe County Public Airport Authority, which provides a variety of aviation services and development opportunities for the Denver Metropolitan area.
