March 30, 2023

Crow: “It’s long past time for Congress to reclaim its constitutional authority over matters of war and peace.”

WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06), Iraq combat veteran, released this statement following the Senate vote to repeal the 1991 and 2002 authorizations for the use of military force (AUMF) in the Iraq War, our nation’s longest war.

As an Iraq War combat veteran, Crow has been a vocal supporter of repealing the Iraq War authorizations.

In a statement, Congressman Crow said:

“When Congress makes decisions, young Americans have to follow through. It’s long past time for Congress to reclaim its constitutional authority over matters of war and peace. No more blank checks. Before our servicemembers are sent into harm's way, Congress must debate and decide.”
