Congressman Crow Statement on the Military Conflict in Sudan
Crow: “I join my colleagues in calling for an immediate ceasefire and protection of the innocent civilians caught in the fighting.”
WASHINGTON — Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06), Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability and co-chair of the Protection of Civilians in Conflict Caucus, released this statement on the fighting between Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary force, and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) in Khartoum that is in its fourth day and has left over 150 dead and hundreds more injured.
In a statement, Congressman Crow said:
“I’m deeply concerned by the escalating violence between the Rapid Support Forces and Sudanese Armed Forces in Khartoum and across Sudan. I join my colleagues in calling for an immediate ceasefire, protection of the innocent civilians caught in the fighting, and a return to negotiations. War will not lead to lasting peace; democratic rule is the best path to stability.”
