Crow: “This is an American economic and national security bill...”

WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06), Army veteran and Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Accountability, released this statement following House passage of $95 billion in national security assistance for US partners and allies, including over $9 billion for international humanitarian assistance and over $60 billion for Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression. The bills now head to the Senate for consideration.

Congressman Crow has worked tirelessly to secure this assistance for the people of Ukraine. He witnessed their need and bravery firsthand when he visited Ukraine earlier this year.

In a statement, Congressman Crow said:

“I’ve said time and time again that Ukrainians are willing and able to beat back Russian aggression if they have the support – I’m glad to have fought for and helped secure critically needed, US-backed military assistance for the brave people of Ukraine.

“This is an American economic and national security bill that will help protect over 100,000 US troops in Europe, support US workers and companies, and deliver a more stable and prosperous Europe – America’s largest trading partner.

“Make no mistake: Vladimir Putin will not stop at Ukraine – this is a battle for freedom and democracy everywhere.

“It’s not enough to say ‘America stands with Ukraine;’ we need to vote like it. I’ll keep working with my colleagues in the Senate to stand firm and send this bill to the President’s desk.”
