Congressman Crow Statement Marking 22 Years Since the September 11 Terrorist Attacks
WASHINGTON — Today, Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) released this statement marking twenty-two years since the devastating 9/11 terrorist attacks, the deadliest terrorist attacks on US soil and one of the darkest days in our nation’s history.
Following 9/11, Congressman Crow commissioned as an active duty Army officer. He led a platoon of paratroopers in the invasion of Iraq, followed by two tours in Afghanistan as an Army Ranger.
In a statement, Congressman Crow said:
“September 11 marks one of our nation’s darkest days. The attacks claimed the lives of thousands of Americans and thrust our nation into decades of war.
“To my fellow servicemembers who answered the call to serve and left their home and families to defend our nation: thank you. The US owes you a debt that can never be repaid.
“We’ll never forget the light and hope brought by the first responders who ran towards the flames instead of away. Their bravery and sacrifice represented the best of our nation and continues to inspire us today.”
