Rep. Jason Crow released the following statement marking the 75th anniversary of the D-Day landings in Normandy, France. Crow is on a Congressional Delegation to Normandy today and attended a ceremony at the American Cemetery at Omaha Beach.

"Seventy-five years ago today thousands of Americans put duty and sacrifice first and gave their lives on D-Day. They risked their lives to liberate Europe and protect freedom and democracy for future generations.

WASHINGTON - Following a series of viral disease outbreaks and reports of poor conditions at the Aurora Contract Detention Facility and other detention facilities around the country, Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06) secured language in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill base text to require Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention facilities and their privately run facilities to provide access to Members of Congress and Congressional staff if a request is made at least 24 hours in advance.

Washington, DC –– Today, Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06) helped lead a letter to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell urging him to allow a debate and an up or down vote on the For the People Act (H.R.1). The letter, led by Crow and 11 other freshmen members, was signed in total by more than 60 freshmen members. The For the People Act passed the U.S. House in March and is a once-in-a-generation anti-corruption, voting rights, and money in politics reform bill.

AURORA, CO - On Saturday, Rep. Jason Crow (CO-6) hosted a D-Day remembrance ceremony for veterans living at the Colorado State Veterans Home at Fitzsimons. Rep. Crow will bring the flag to Normandy later this week in memory and honor of the servicemembers who fought at the D-Day invasion on its 75th anniversary.

At the event, veterans signed a document to certify the flag, which has travelled to the sites of the U.S.S. Arizona and the U.S.S. Utah. The document read:
