"I cast my vote today to override President Trump's veto thinking about my time as Private Crow when I was on the receiving end of decisions made in Congress. We have a sacred obligation to our men and women in uniform and their families to make sure they have the support they need. This defense bill will give our troops a pay raise, improve military housing, and give the government the resources it needs to respond to the ongoing cyberattacks."

"I called for $2,000 emergency payments since the beginning of this pandemic. I know what it's like to struggle paycheck to paycheck and not know where my next rent payment would come from. Americans are in crisis and they deserve leadership and support.
"The President supports this, the House supports this, and now it is time for the Senate to join us as well."
"To be clear, the President just vetoed the defense bill during a national security crisis because he wants to sue Twitter. Let's hope the Republicans who voted a few weeks ago for getting tough on China, giving troops a pay raise, and responding to cyber threats still think those are good ideas next week when we vote to override. Our country and our service members deserve nothing less."
