WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) voted to pass H.R.1620, the Violence Against Women Reauthorization Act (VAWA) of 2021. First enacted in 1994, the bipartisan legislation protects victims and survivors of gender-based domestic violence by strengthening and renewing federal domestic violence protections and resources for women.

Legislation Would End 2002 Authorization of Military Force Against Iraq

WASHINGTON - Today, Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06) voted to pass H.R. 256, Repealing the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF) Against Iraq Resolution of 2002. This bipartisan legislation would terminate the nearly two-decade-old congressional authorization for using military force in Iraq, first enacted in 2002.

WASHINGTON - Today, Reps. Jason Crow (D-CO) and Mike Simpson (R-ID) introduced the Outdoor Restoration Partnership Act, bipartisan and bicameral legislation that would create or sustain over two million jobs in the outdoors by investing in forest and watershed restoration. This legislation will provide direct support to local, collaborative efforts to restore habitat, expand outdoor access, and mitigate wildfire.

WASHINGTON - Today, Representatives Jason Crow (D-CO) joined by Sylvia Garcia (D-TX) and Veronica Escobar (D-TX) reintroduced the End Transfer of Detained Immigrants Act, legislation which would immediately prevent Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from transferring immigrant detainees between ICE facilities or to federal, state, and local prisons during the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

AURORA – Congressman Jason Crow (CO-06) was joined by US Senators Michael Bennet (D-CO) and John Hickenlooper (D-CO) in calling for an independent Inspector General investigation into the recent death of Melvin Ariel Calero-Mendoza at the Aurora GEO Group facility, a privately-owned ICE detention center.

WASHINGTON - Today, Representatives Jason Crow (D-Colo.) and Troy Balderson (R-Ohio) and Senators Chris Coons (D-Del.) and Tim Scott (R-S.C.) introduced the Next Generation Entrepreneurship Corps Act. This bipartisan and bicameral legislation would encourage new business and job creation in underserved communities through a competitive fellowship for entrepreneurs. With a six-year investment of $330 million, the bill will identify talented entrepreneurs through a national competition and directly support the creation of 320 new businesses each year.

WASHINGTON - Today, Congressman Jason Crow (D-CO) introduced the Public Health Workforce Loan Repayment Act, alongside Reps. Michael C. Burgess, M.D (R-TX), Anna Eshoo (D-CA), and Brett Guthrie (R-KY). This bipartisan legislation would establish the Public Health Workforce Loan Repayment Program to promote the recruitment of public health professionals at local, state, and tribal public health agencies.
