Book Program

As part of our mission to help build opportunities and resources in our Colorado communities, Congressman Crow's office is happy to help bring book donations to local organizations through the Library of Congress Surplus Books Program. At any given time, the Library of Congress has thousands of books available that we can help donate to schools, libraries, community centers and other organizations in our district.

The books include a wide range of genres, including children's books, fiction, non-fiction, reference books, textbooks, test-prep books, and many others. The books in the Surplus Books Program change often and aren't listed in any database, so we are here to help find the books that best match your interests and needs. We recommend keeping your requests general since we cannot guarantee that the exact books you request will be available (for example, "science textbooks" instead of "AP Physics textbooks").

Eligible organizations and institutions located within the Colorado Sixth Congressional District fall into one of the following categories:

  • Full-time, tax-supported or nonprofit educational institution: school, school system, college, university, museum, or public library.
  • Agency of local, state, or federal government.
  • Nonprofit institution or organization that has tax-exempt status under the provisions of section 501 of the Internal Revenue Code of 1954 (see 41 CFR 101-44.207 (a) (17)) and that operates a library and/or research center open to the public.

To submit a request, please enter the necessary information in this form. Once a book request is made our office will contact you. Please note that book requests can sometimes take several months to fill.

Whether you are studying or teaching or simply satisfying your curiosity, we can't wait to help bring the joys of reading to your neighborhood!

You can request books at this form.
