Crow Votes to Pass INVEST in America Act, Securing $18.3 Million in Funding for Local Community Infrastructure Projects
The INVEST in America Act will create good-paying jobs modernizing and rebuilding our roads, bridges, transit, rail, and drinking water and wastewater systems
WASHINGTON - Rep. Jason Crow (CO-06) today voted to pass the INVEST in America Act, which includes $18.3 million in funding for local community infrastructure projects in Colorado’s 6th Congressional District. The INVEST in America Act is a five-year, $547 billion investment in our nation’s roads, bridges, transit, rail, and water infrastructure to create jobs, modernize our infrastructure and reduce carbon pollution.
“Colorado’s rapid growth has put a serious strain on our infrastructure and community resources,” said Congressman Jason Crow. “The INVEST in America Act makes a substantial investment in our nation’s roads, bridges, transit, and rail systems - bringing American infrastructure into the 21st century, creating millions of good-paying jobs, and putting us on the path towards zero emissions in the transportation sector. I’m proud to have secured millions in funding for four local community infrastructure projects, including improvements to busy intersections that will reduce traffic and improve pedestrian access. These infrastructure and community investments will make life easier for millions of Coloradans.”
The $18.3 million in funding that Crow secured would be used to expand Gun Club Road in Aurora, improve the intersection of Easter Avenue and Havana Street in Centennial, make improvements to the 1-25 / Belleview Avenue Interchange in Greenwood Village, and update Aurora's bicycle and pedestrian walkways.
More information about each of the projects:
- $800,000 for the Aurora Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan Update
- $1.5 million for the Aurora Expansion of Gun Club Road
- $10 million for the Arapahoe County Improvements to I-25/Belleview Avenue Interchange
- $6 million for the Centennial Improvements to Easter and Havana Intersection
Crow also successfully passed an amendment into the INVEST Act that would help ensure equity in electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure by targeting communities of color and low-to-moderate income communities.
